We get the green light.

And then this stupid chick decides to then cross the road, going east…against the GREEN FUCKING LIGHT!

Yea, she was hot, and at least 18, and looked like a runner.

Common sense is sorely lacking though.

I hate stupid pedestrians.

The scenario: I was driving to The Passenger’s house, going the 40 mph speed limit in the left lane. There is not a car in sight behind me. Yet, there was a douchbag who could not wait 3 seconds to wait do a u-turn. Instead, said asswad had to pull this maneuver right in front of me.  Said douchebag then could not wait to get into my lane.

The ending: Damn good thing I pay attention when driving, or else this would not have been good.

The moral: If you have to wait an extra 3 seconds to make a u-turn…JUST DO IT!!

Final thought: I drive a lot at night, and I have not been pulled over, despite passing many cops. I take this to mean that my lights work, and my car is okay. I know my car is not invisible. I guess some drivers are total assholes.

Pedestrians

I watched a woman cross a very heavily traveled road, with her 2 young kids, and she was nowhere near a crosswalk. People haul ass on this road, and she took her time crossing. This was on Missouri Avenue, and though the speed limit is 40, many people do 50 or higher. I see people pulled over all of the time.

Lady, you might want a Darwin Award for yourself. But don’t drag your kids into it because of your stupidity.

This is your last fucking warning. I’m the last person who wants to see anyone get hurt or killed. But if y’all refuse to use the crosswalk, I PROBABLY CANNOT STOP IN TIME!!

So in my travels the last 2 days, here are 2 examples I have seen of bad driving from out of state drivers.

The first happened yesterday. I was in Mad Beach to go to Brighthouse and grab a new remote control. I was heading home, going north on Gulf Blvd. 4 lanes, 2 each direction, pedestrian crosswalks everywhere, speed limit 35 the whole way. I’m passing through beach towns. I’m in the left lane, the right lane has 2 vehicles. This one dude with Michigan plates was literally drafting from the car in front, just inches from the bumper. This went on for a few seconds, then changes lanes in front of me, hits the gas, and got up to 50 in a heartbeat. Douchbag. People are crossing the street all up and down the road.

The second happened when I picked up The Passenger from work a little bit ago.  I was in the right lane, a car in front, and the douchebag in the center lane. Well, the douche and the person in front of me are nearly even. The douche then decides to take the spot of the person in front of me. I could not believe it! How the hell can you not know there is another vehicle right there? You are supposed to look before changing lanes. I will say, at least the douche did use their turn signal.

Pedestrians, again

On the drive through the beaches, there are NUMEROUS crosswalks where pedestrians can cross safely, as drivers are required to stop. Well, at least I do.

Anyway, there have been numerous times when people have crossed the road 20 friggin’ feet away from a crosswalk. Hey, I’m going to do my absolute best to stop from hitting you. I don’t want to hurt anyone. But if y’all pedestrians still insist on crossing a busy road outside of the crosswalks, I, nor any other driver, CANNOT GUARANTEE that we will not hit you. Hey, it is tough to stop a car that weighs 3800 pounds going 35mph.

I cannot speak for douchebags that go well over the speed limit. You made your choice.

Please, pedestrians, use the crosswalks. Thanks.

Well crap, I know the reason why.

A lot of pedestrians DO NOT use the crosswalk.

Right after I picked up The Passenger today from work, I turned onto a road where the speed limit is 50mph. There were cars in front of me.  No lie, I saw not 1, but 2 different sets of people cross 3 lanes of of traffic going 50…and they were nowhere near a crosswalk. This is known as jaywalking, and is illegal.

There has been a rash of pedestrians getting hit in my area in the last few months. Of course, I do not want to see people hurt or killed. People need to stop being idiots though and to use crosswalks. Florida law says the pedestrian has the right-of-way while  legally crossing in a crosswalk.

That reminds me, I use to drive along Gulf Blvd. with the t-tops off. There are many designated crossing areas throughout the beach communities, especially Indian Rocks Beach. My last drive, people were constantly jaywalking, plus they got pissed when I did not stop. Use the friggin’ designated crosswalk, then I will stop!
